Frequently Asked Questions
What kind of ceremonies do you offer?
I offer ceremonies for all aspects of love and life including weddings, elopements, vow renewals, memorials and funerals.
What about same-sex weddings?
I believe in absolute equality. I will marry any couple in love.
What does a professional MC do?
A professional MC removes all of the stress and worry from your day or evening to ensure it runs smoothly and on time. As a wedding MC I coordinate photos, make sure your guests know what’s happening throughout the day, host your wedding reception, lead the speeches and make any required announcements such as cutting the cake or the first dance.
What is included in your funeral services?
I offer a young-at-heart, modern approach to funerals. As your celebrant I can help with ceremony planning and logistics, writing and delivering the eulogy, designing service material, and liaising with venues or other speakers. I’m here to support you and your family to create a heartfelt farewell.
How much do you charge?
My celebrant pricing varies depending on the type and location of the ceremony. Prices start from $295 for a legals-only ceremony. Please contact me for a quote. (Note: This does not include the cost of a marriage licence.)
What is the booking process?
Email me via the contact page to check availability and ask any questions. To confirm your booking, I will send a non-refundable booking invoice for 50% of the service fee. The balance is due one calendar month before your ceremony. If your booking is within one month of the ceremony, full payment is due at the time of booking.
How far in advance do I need to book?
If you're getting married, it’s best to book as far ahead as you can. However, in New Zealand it only takes three working days to process the paperwork to get married. Subject to availability, I can arrange your wedding in less than five working days. For other ceremonies, I’m flexible and happy to work within your time frame.
We don’t live in New Zealand – can you help us get married?
Absolutely. I’ve married couples from all over the world including Australia, the UK, Sweden, Asia, the USA and Lithuania. I’ll help you with the legal paperwork and guide you through the process to make sure your marriage is recognised in your home country.
Can you help us get a marriage licence and marriage certificate?
As part of my fee, I will guide you through the required paperwork. Marriage licence applications take 3–5 working days to process and cost $150, payable to the Department of Internal Affairs. Your marriage licence is valid for 90 days. Marriage certificates can be ordered at the same time for $33, and are highly recommended for updating legal documents like passports and driver's licences. You can find more information and apply online at the Department of Internal Affairs website.
Terms and Conditions
In the unfortunate event that I become unwell or an emergency arises please be assured that I am well connected with a network of experienced celebrants and MCs who offer a similar style and approach to me. I will ensure an appropriate and professional replacement is organised in my place at no additional cost or stress to you.
